Philippine Azkals is back on track with their campaign in the ongoing AFC Challenge Cup after beating team India, 2-0, during the group stage match on Sunday, March 11.
The Azkals debuted 2 days ago at the AFC which is happening in Nepal, losing the game from North Korea with 2 to nothing.
The Philippine team is facing Tajikistan tomorrow, March 13.

Philippine Azkals Bows to Myanmar, Loses SEA Games Medal Hope

Philippine Azkals Under-23 team lost to Myanmar in the ongoing 26th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) men’s football on Sunday.
Myanmar demolished the Azkals Jr. with a score of 5 to 0.
Although the Junior Azkals won in their match against Laos, their loses against Timor Leste, Vietnam and now from Myanmar definitely hurt their chance to advance to the medal rounds.
Their next game will be against Brunei this afternoon, November 15.
Vietnam and Myanmar are expected to advance in the medal rounds instead.

Philippine Azkals Jr. (U23) win their first points in the football competition of the 26th SEA Games in Jakarta on Friday.
After a disappointing first game against Timor Leste on Thursday, the Philippine Azkals Jr. bounced back after besting Laos, 3-2.
With the victory, the Philippine Azkals Jr. still have a slim chance of making the semifinals with three points, although they would need to beat Myanmar and Brunei in their remaining matches and hope that a confluence of events like Vietnam losing to Brunei and Myanmar and Timor Leste play to a draw to advance to the medal round. The Azkals also hope that Laos beats Timor Leste.
Azkals vs Nepal: Philippine Azkals Trumps Nepal Tigers (4-0)

Although they lost the friendly game against Singapore last Saturday which was held in Singapore’s home turf, the Philippine Azkals won on Tuesday against the Nepal Tigers (4-0) at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.
Phil and James Younghusband scored two goals on the first half, one on the 16th minute and the other on the 29th minute, respectively. Phil Younghusband scored another goal on the second half. Completing the four goals is Matthew Hartmann during the 88th minute which was assisted by Phil Younghusband.
It’s interesting to note that the Azkals is ranked 166th by FIFA while the Nepal Tigers ranked higher at 135th.
