Kris Bernal is the Next Marian Rivera?

Kris Bernal is one of the few actresses whose tv programs have been consistently hit in the ratings. Her previous soaps were in fact nationwide topraters in one time or another like “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin” in 2009, “Koreana” in 2010 and “Hiram na Puso” this year.

If Marian Rivera is GMA-7′s Primetime Queen for having primetime series that were hits in TV ratings, Kris Bernal, on the other hand, should be the Kapuso Network’s Soap Opera Princess.

And speaking of Marian Rivera, some people have noticed that Kris Bernal has a slight resemblance to GMA-7′s hottest property and that they can portray sister roles perfectly.

In an interview by PEP, the 22-year-old actress said she’s flattered by the observation.

“Talaga? Hindi naman,” is her modest reply.

The “Hiram na Puso” star also expressed her admiration to the Kapuso Primetime Queen.

“‘Pag nakikita ko siya, hindi ako nagsasawa sa face niya,” Bernal added.

If she can maintain her winning streak, who knows, perhaps Kris Bernal will become the next Marian Rivera. Since they look alike in some ways, perhaps GMA-7 is building her up so she can conquer primetime one day and could become the next “Dyesebel,” “Darna” or “Amaya”?

Kris Bernal broke up with Jay Perillo before Christmas. After the New Year, the Kapuso star admitted that Jolo Revilla is courting her.

“Yes, nanliligaw siya,” this was Kris Bernal’s straight answer in Showbiz Central’s “Don’t Lie to Me” segment last January 1 to the question regarding Jolo Revilla.

Kris also admitted in the said program that she and Jolo are still in the “getting to know each other” stage.

“Lumalabas kami, nagkikita kami pero doon muna. Kinikilala ko pa lang siya pero sa ngayon masasabi ko mabait siya, sweet siya, mabuting kaibigan, kumbaga,” she said.

When asked if Jolo has a chance to become her boyfriend, Kris paused for a while then answered “Yes!”

Kris also admitted that she spent the first hours of the New Year with Jolo.

“After ng New Year’s countdown sa MOA, nagkita kami,” she quipped.

During the press conference for Panday 2 where she is a cast-member, Kris admitted that she and singer Jay Perillo are no longer in a relationship.

Her reason: they want to focus on their individual careers.

Kris Bernal admitted that she and singer Jay Perillo are exclusively dating.

In an interview by PEP, Kris Bernal revealed that she already feels “love” with the Party Pilipinas/Comedy Bar mainstay.

“May love na, may love na, pero not… hindi pa siya yung love na parang kaya kong pagsabayin siya at yung love ko sa career ko,” Kris clarified.

“Parang hindi pa gano’n yung love ko, pero mahal ko siya dahil napakabait niya sa akin,” the Time of My Life star added.

Kris Bernal shared the trait that attracted her the most with Jay was his being thoughtful. Even though it’s difficult for them to find time to meet and date because of their busy schedules, Jay Perillo occasionally visits Kris in the set of Time of My Life and brings her favorite food.
