‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’ International TVC Launched on CNN
The Department of Tourism released on Monday the international TV commercials for the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign on CNN.
The TVC runs for 30 seconds and it features selected “It’s More fun in the Philippines” online posters which became viral in various social networking sites last January.
Made by various Filipino netizens, featured on the online posters are popular tourist destinations in the country like the Chocolate Hils in Bohol, the rice terraces in Cordillera and the limestone islands of Palawan.
The said TVC, which featured disco house song ‘Barbra Streisand’ by Duck Sauce with rap by Pinoy Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.Ap, ended with the question “What will you come up with?”
A short version of the campaign, which runs only for 15 seconds, features footage of the iconic Philippine Tarsier with the caption, “Staring Contests. More fun in the Philippines.”
‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’ to Debut in the World’s Largest Travel Trade Show
“It’s more fun in the Philippines,” the new campaign of the Department of Tourism (DOT) is set to debut at the 2012 International Tourismus Bourse (ITB) in Germany, the world’s largest travel trade expo.
“Our participation in ITB this year is quite significant because it’s the first time for us to roll out the ‘It’s more fun in the Philippines’ campaign in a global event,” Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. said in a statement.
Happening on March 7-11 in Berlin, Jimenez will lead the country’s 41-man delegation to debut the country’s slogan “It’s more fun in the Philippines” on the international stage. The Philippine booth will cover a total area of 180 square meters, which the DOT will share with private sector partners representing the country’s top hotels, resorts and travel agents. Tourist destinations that will be promoted in the expo are Manila, Negros Oriental, Palawan, Boracay, Cebu, and Bohol.
The Tourism Secretay is confident that the new campaign will create a higher awareness level of the Philippines as a “must-experience” destination in Asia as part of the department’s goal of attracting 10 million tourists by 2016.

It’s More Fun in the Philippines Because of Filipinos!
It’s More Fun in the Philippines – this is the newest slogan of the Department of Tourism highlighting the ebullient nature of Filipinos in an attempt to draw more tourists in the country.
Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez says, “What differentiates the Philippines from other offerings is the Filipino.”
The campaign aims to draw 4.2 million tourists for 2012 and 10 million by 2016 from only 3.7 million last year.
Despite of the country’s beautiful beaches and diving, English-speaking people and cheap shopping, the Philippines lag way behind our Southeast Asian neighbors like Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and even Vietnam and Indonesia when it comes to tourism.
To be at par with the said countries, the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign was presented at the ASEAN Tourism Forum in Indonesia on Friday, January 13, by Tourism Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr.
“ATF 2012 is a perfect platform to introduce to some 1,600 international delegates composed of buyers and sellers,” Secretary Jimenez, Jr. said in a statement.
Also present at the DOT presentation were North Sulawesi Governor Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Maria Rosario Claudio Aguinaldo and Consul General Jose Burgos.
