Heisman finalists, five of them, have been revealed in one of the closest votes in the Heisman Trophy history, monday night.
The 5 Heisman finalists, vying for the 77th edition of the award and who are considered five of the top players in the country for the 2011 season, will travel to New York City for the ceremony. As announced by ESPN, here they are:
- Wisconsin running back Montee Ball
- Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III
- Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck
- LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu
- Alabama running back Trent Richardson
Among the 5 running for the Heisman trophy, Andrew Luck is considered the overwhelming favorite to win.
The Stanford quarterback will head to New York for the presentation of college football’s most famous player of the year award having relinquished that status.
It’s actually a return trip for Luck, the only repeat finalist this season.
