Grace Ibuna, the recent wife of Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo Jr. reportedly snubbed the latter’s previous wife, Aleli Arroyo, and vice versa, during the necrological Service for the late Negros Occidental Representative on Monday morning, March 7.
In a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer, Aleli Arroyo sat near the late Congressman’s remains with the rest of the Arroyo family including former First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo, Ang Galing party-list Representative Juan Miguel Arroyo, and Camarines Sur Representative Diosdado Arroyo.
Grace Ibuna, on the other hand, was only allowed to stay at the VIP gallery. She sat there with her mother Linda Ibuna during the mass and necrological service held at the House plenary hall.
Last night, the remains of Iggy were brought to his hometown in Negros Occidental as fulfillment of his wish before he died.
“He is now happy. He’s home,” Ibuna said upon the arrival of the lawmaker’s body at the Bacolod Silay Airport.
Iggy Arroyo died due to a liver ailment in London last January 26. His interment is set on Friday, March 9, at the family mausoleum in the Manila North Cemetery.
Meanwhile, Pasay City RTC allowed the former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to attend the funeral mass of her brother-in-law this Friday.

Grace Ibuna, the common-law wife of the late Rep. Iggy Arroyo of Negros Occidental, may be sued by Alicia Arroyo, the legal wife, for allegedly claiming she is the spouse and giving the go-signal to remove the life-support system on their clinically-dead husband.
Alicia said she would never have pulled the plug on Iggy.
Atty. Lorna Kapunan, Alicia Arroyo’s lawyer, said they are planning to file charges against Grace Ibuna for declaring that she is the legal wife of the late congressman.
“To misrepresent that you are the spouse, when in fact you are not, to misrepresent or to actually go ahead and pull the plug, these are all multiple criminal offenses,” Kapunan said.
Alicia and Iggy filed for marriage annulment in 2005 but it was never approved by court making her the present legal wife.
Iggy, according to her, stopped going to their family home in La Vista, Quezon City since then.
