Carla Abellana is now free to promote her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” despite being an exclusive contract artist of Regal Films.
This is according to her leading man, Laguna governor E.R. Ejercito, who said Mother Lily Monterverde is now allowing Carla Abellana to promote the Non-Regal produced movie.
“Okay na. I talked to Mother (Lily) twice already, pumapayag na siyang mag-promote si Carla (ng film). Dapat nandito siya ngayon. May taping lang siya,” he said via an interview by Yahoo! Philippines during the red carpet premiere of “Manila Kingpin” at SM Manila Cinema 1 last Dec. 17.
Carla Abellana is also one of the lead stars of the Regal Films MMFF entry “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” hence, the controversy sparked.
