Boxing legends from Mexico are arriving in Manila for the “Island Assault 3″ the WBO flyweight championship where our very own Brian Viloria is mandated to defend his title against Mexican Giovanni Segura at the Ynares Sports Arena on December 11.
Also coming to the Philippines are boxing superstars like WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, the acknowledged “Son of the Legend” Julio Cesar Chavez Sr who will do the TV commentary for Mexican audiences alongside another legend, Marco Antonio Barrera.
Aside from the Viloria-Segura title fight, the supporting main event will feature Mexican fighter Martin Honorio (31-6-1, 16 KOs) versus Fahsai Sakkreerin (36-2-0, 20 KOs) of Thailand for the IBF interim Super Featherweight title.
Undercard matches include Filipino Al Sabaupan (17-0-1 12 KOs) against Indonesian Champion Roy Muklis (23-3-2 18KOs) for the IBF Pan Pacific Championship; and Lolito Sonsona (17-0-1 12 KOs) against former world title challenger Arden Diale (16-6-3 4KOs) for the Philippine Flyweight Championship.
